I listen to Mitski way too much and I'm fine with that. In a relationship(Jannat๐ฅบ). I spend most of my free time on visual novels and indie games , not the flashy kind, just the ones that hit you somewhere quiet and stay there.

hits differently once you know what it's actually about. Mitski wrote it from the perspective of the care she wishes she had , or gives to herself , so the tenderness in the lyrics lands with this strange ache behind it. It's a quiet song, almost gentle, but that gentleness is exactly what makes it hurt. There's something about hearing someone make soft promises of devotion and realizing those promises might be directed inward, not outward, that sticks with you long after the song ends. Mitski herself cried performing it live at least once, which feels right ,it's the kind of song that knows exactly where to press.
